Marin Cazacu has built a career as an artist and professor at the National University of Music in Bucharest.
Since 1983 he has been a soloist of the Philharmonic "George Enescu" and played both in Romania and abroad, under the baton of great conductors Gennady Rojdestvenski, Sergiu Comissiona, Lu Jin, Nans Gum, Cristian Mandel, Horia Andreescu, Antoni Rosmarble, Mendi Rodan, Misha Katz, Jean Périsson. He appeared with various chamber artists including Vladimir Orlov, Valentin Gheorghiu, Radu Aldulescu, Mihaela Martin, Mirel Iancovici, Ilya Grubert, Jeremy Menuhin and as a member of the group "Pro Arte" and collaborator of the quartet "Voces". His name often figured in major European festivals such as those in Munich, Berlin, Milan, Venen, Valencia, Bratislava, Sofia. In 1990 he performed with the Berlin Radio Orchestra and in 1994 was soloist with the National Radio Orchestra conducted by Horia Andreescu Festival "Europe Music" (Munich), and in concerts broadcast live in many countries in Europe.
In 1998 he founded the quartet "Cellissimo " together with Alexandra GuŃu, Razvan Suma and Olga Manescu - and with support from of his students performed in unique recitals of 8 to 12 cellos.
